So this was the first (and probably last) time I watched a full episode of The Simpsons that wasn't from the golden age. (seasons 1-10) To think that this was from season 18, It probably wouldn't be very good.
If you'd like a very narrow review of this, then read below;
Read the plot of this and you'll get a picture of what happened in the episode.
But for people who love to read and want an essay of this, ho-ho, you don't want to watch this episode.
First off, this episode did actually manage to be somewhat funny, like it had a few funny clips. However, it wasn't as consistently funny as the episodes we got in the 90s. Bart and his baseball team win another match, and then they have to participate in the championship. So Bart screws up his last catch, and his team loses. This is when the episode starts to get sucky. Bart messed up many times catching to baseball and the entire crowd goes entirely bonkers and they treat Bart as if he were a politician suspending something. Also there's this subplot where Homer and Marge trade their mattress with another couple for another mattress, and they both try to trade again. I mean, Homer could have just kept their mattress and the couple had their own mattress. Just proves how Illumination-esque the Simpsons' episodes became. Bart gets mentally and physically abused to a level of Squidward Torture. LaBoot stinks! Bart also tries committing suicide by falling down a water tower with the words "I HATE BART SIMPSON" written on it. Then Bart wants a rematch. And he spends like forever correcting the catch he missed. Also, Moe just starts running around the field naked, which is honestly just pointless and unfunny. How about the crowd just throws trash at Moe instead of Bart? We all make mistakes. No reason to have everyone turn against someone for one mistake. Bart's saying that he does suck in the end of the episode. Don't even blame it on YOURSELF.
Overall, this episode is so understandably hated by the community of The Simpsons. It's very mean spirited.

I decided to binge all of Asdfmovie (including deleted scenes and fansdfmovie) because I... I just wanted to. I'd say this series was at its peak from asdf5 to asdf9. My favorite one was asdfmovie6, and my least favorite was... this one. Every other installment I had a positive feeling about, but this is the only one that is excluded from that country of good asdfmovies. A lot of the jokes are below the standards of the first few asdfs. Normally, I laugh about 4-8 times at one of these. But I think I laughed only once at this one. The joke I laughed at was "The sentence is death." And it was turned into a running gag in this one, which wasn't great, because sometimes the gags aren't that funny or unexpected. Death is probably the most basic. Now yes, there was pretty good attempts at funny jokes in asdfmovie14, but I feel like a lot of the jokes are just the same joke from previous installments, except with different topics or scenarios. I think the animators probably should have just took the last 10 skits in asdf14, and replaced them with all the deleted scenes from asdf15. So right now, asdf14 is my least favorite of all of these installments. It's not bad, but it's still far from perfection.
So, I don't know how to start my review for this game. It's good, but has a raceme of problems. First off, the character (and ability) variants are gone. I'm sure this disappointed a lot of fans who were hyped for this game. And while I, myself is included, I feel like it would be difficult to come up with spellbinding concepts for the new characters. (Nightcap, 80s Action Hero, etc) I think this is why they removed all of the character variants. Secondly, some of the characters have been nerfed to the point where they're more useless. Also, some new abilities for old characters from the other 2 games are sort of uninteresting. Another thing I'm not happy about is the new Cactus voice. I surprisingly prefer the old voice. I thought it was fitting and cute. But something I liked is that they added new boss fights, and they are really fun. What also sucks is that the devs were going to add an Iceberg Lettuce character for the Plants side, but it was scrapped. I think it's a good game, just not as good or nostalgic as the other 2 games.
