This is an enchanting film with breathtaking scenery, mystery, romance, and all the good things that make up great movie. I love the discord with the characters experiencing both fear & curiosity at the same time. I love the suspense with nothing actually too scary Happening.
My daughters and I were drooling over the ball gowns Belle received as a gift from the Beast each day. I dream about Belle's bedroom in the castle and having my own geode bathtub. The clothing and backdrops are exquisite. Each dress is so unique and well designed-this movie deserves awards for clothing and set for sure.
The English dub is well done and matches the characters very well. Thank you to everyone who helped create this ornate and intriguing film! I want more!

This is BY FAR my favorite adaptation of Maude Montgomery's beloved book. The animation is beautiful and truly sets free the soul of the story and Anne's cherished heart. The bosom friendship between Anne and Diana is portrayed beautifully according to the time period and without modern belittling or misunderstanding . The story and portrayal are entirely wholesome (no modern agenda, just a truly beautiful story brought to life as written). I am absolutely in love!!
My seven year old daughter and I watched it together (English dubbed version) and both found ourselves in tears, giggling, and flowing over with emotion to witness Anne's experiences. We are waiting in anticipation for the final 3 episodes to come out in English (I hate the voices of the Japanese version... don't fit the aesthetic at all-but the English version is beautiful).
I love that this is a wholesome show my family and I can enjoy together, and that the creators stayed true to the authors intent and time period. Wonderfully made!

Fiona Palomo BLEW ME AWAY with her gorgeous voice and facial expressions that blended the perfect amount of suffering with resolve. I am a huge fan of her now! I loved the character development of Mary as she struggled to be OK with the direction her life was taking... I just wish her character was developed a bit more to fulfillment in the end. It would have been great for her to explain to little Jesus that her desire to be a teacher was fulfilled when she was able to teach HIM all she knew.
I was excited initially to see this movie because it features Milo Manheim as Joseph, and I Love him from Disney's "Zombies". He's amazing in the disney series and just as incredible in this movie. His sweet and quirky charm, looks, and singing voice really set him apart as an actor.
Overall I love the movie and plan to see it again, but the plot development that flowed so nicely up until Mary and Joseph were married really let me down in the end. I wish that Mary had a song while she was giving birth (something like "Lord deliver me, as I deliver you!" crying out as she's in labor. I hate it when labor scenes are diminished to a woman sitting up on a pillow and yelling for a moment before a baby pops out. I feel that portrayal really takes away from the miracle and the depth of actual pain it takes to accomplish it is diminished.
I also wish with all my heart there was an ending song that featured all the main characters!!!!! This would have been the perfect way to integrate everyone into the plot resolution at the end and be such a fun song. I actually expected it based on how things went and was very disappointed when it didn't happen. The ending was unfortunately very lack luster to me. I didn't appreciate the magi pretending to be shepherds, or the abrupt flight to egypt and end of the movie. I want a whole cast musical ending!
All the other songs were so good that I am really sad there wasn't that final ending song to top it off.
As far as Antonio Banderas as Herod....he has a great voice but his character development didn't play into the story very well and didn't resolve in the end in my opinion. His son's song was really the culmination of Herod's character but wasn't enough for me to end his character development. His time on screen felt like a waste compared to the other characters. I did really appreciate the song where he walked through the crowd and acted evil but that's all they needed from him and shouldn't have given any more screen time than that. I would prefer to have that time given to more development of other characters like SHEPHERDS and Mary and Josephs relationship. I also loved the voice of the random girl who helped the magi (give her more time please!).
I also would have LOVED a bigger song for Jesus's birth from the angels! Having the shepherds sing "Angels we have heard on high" while the Angels sing "alleluia" or something mashed up would have been really cool.
Overall the vibe of this movie is great. It's eccentric, it's quirky, it has a really fun modern take on a classical story. I am a huge fan of the costumes and the magi's interior decorating skills :D.
