The series is one of the best Fantasy Historical Dramas in any language (Hindi, English, Bengali, Mandarin, Korean, German) that I have seen, so far. The main leads and the side cast all acted well, especially Xiao Zhan whose superb acting brought depth and emotion to the role.

I gave it a 9 as the first few episodes were confusing but it got better and better. Also, why they did not ride their swords to rescue the protagonist!! The compelling storyline kept me engaged with its intricate plot, well-developed characters, and absolutely amazing cinematography.

What drew me in further was the fact that the plot clearly shows how the once persecuted can very easily become the oppressors and how conflict effects normal people, who then become victims of the once oppressed. And the main lead not only talks about this several times but also tries to bring change but falls victim to "Post-Truth" and "Confirmation Bias".

If you like watching and/or playing tennis, this is definitely a show worth watching. There is a lot of Tennis action, though the tournament matches are shot more like martial arts not just tennis, it's fun, which is why 8 ⭐ The FL adds absolutely nothing to the series, in fact the character is really weak. She could have been shown to be taking a more active part in learning the game rather than just being an infatuated stalker. I got interested in tennis after watching Martina Navratilova, so that was a huge disappointment. Also, because the Chinese tv series is supposed to be inspired by the female player Li Na, who won both the French and the Australian Open.

Tennis is traditionally called a "gentleman's" sport!! So, another aspect of the series which was a bit disappointing was the constant bullying on and off field, but i guess that was to make the script exciting!!

This is by far the best BL drama I have ever watched. In fact it is better than many non-Bl dramas. Crime, Action, Romance, Horror, it has everything. Though some torture and BDSM might be a bit much for certain people, but all in all its an action packed rollercoaster thriller.

Both MLs and many of the support cast are great at acting and manage to grab your attention. Even Kim and Porchay's interaction was emotionally grabbing. The Villainous characters have several layers and you tend to develop an emotional attachment towards some. Though the Pete and Vegas stockholm syndrome romance was a bit unhealthy for my taste, which is why the 9 ⭐

The Cinematography is awesome especially the Romantic scenes are artistically shot making them more romantic than just seductive.
