Wow! I had low expectations for this but with Fede Alvarez who has done Evil Dead and Don't Breathe, the movie had to have been at least decent. Most films nowadays don't execute the third act well and the movie usually comes crumbling down. Well, this one didn't disappoint and is the best Alien movie since Aliens. Although it is an easy to follow plot that pays homage to its predecessors, I actually didn't expect as many twists and new things introduced that haven't been done in the franchise yet. THIS is what I expected from Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. I was slightly worried once the film started rolling that the pacing might be too slow and all the action happens towards the end like the prequels. Luckily, the pacing was great and Fede brought out the best in the young cast. We now have a worthy prequel/sequel that fits nicely in between the first two movies in the same fashion as Rogue One with Star Wars. Caile Spaeny was great as the lead and I'm glad how they handled her character. The movie left me wanting more and I definitely want to see this again. Since I have the Alien Anthology in Blu-Ray, I now want a copy of Romulus. I'm curious on where they take the franchise next.

I enjoyed DP3 as it had great action scenes and bromantic synergy between the title characters. That's expected. The first depiction of Cassandra Cain in live-action was also solid. But felt like there was a little too much forced humor and fan service that took away from the movie to make me want to love it as much as I do the other ones. This movie was a last hoorah for those that enjoyed the Fox movies and pre-MCU films. I think it was good up until the third act where it felt too predictable. This movie is definitely marketed well and overhyped in my opinion. It may rank in the top 10 MCU movies but definitely not in my top 5. A lot of reviews are saying it's as good as Endgame and that's totally false. Spider-Man: No Way Home, in my opinion, is the only movie after that has come closest. Although that one doesn't go without its faults, there was much more of gravitas and impact, not just with Peter but with the audience in depicting so many emotional scenes in regard to Peter holding Aunt May while she dies, Uncle Ben conversation, Garfield's Spidey saving MJ, Holland visiting the coffee shop post-memory wipe, Maguire nearly preventing Holland from killing Green Goblin. Just didn't feel as much of that in DP3.

I had hopes for this show especially with Park Chan Wook involved. It was interesting to see RDJ play different roles but no one would be surprised with his versatility in acting skills. The show started off decent but felt the show just wasn't executed in the best way possible. The story felt dragged out each episode with only a seven episode count and although it was nice to see some Asian representation, I just didn't care much for any of the characters. They might've been better off with doing a 2 hour movie. The satire tone worked on some parts but really was overdone throughout the show. I expected something more to keep me engaged and feel some type of emotional attachment but it never delivered. Considering that Hoa Xuande was playing a Vietnamese communist spy, I wanted to see more scenes that made you want to empathize more for the character so by the time the ending came, you'd feel satisfied with the outcome of his character.
