It was clear based on spoilers for the season, the nasty edit for Kitty and Kween - which production could have easily kept out with their hours of footage from every shoot - was all a vehicle to justify to the fans choosing Alyssa Edwards with her otherwise safe or underwhelming track record the crown. It was always going to be Alyssa, always and forever Alyssa Edwards. The favouritism and rigging in the season was the most blatant and out of control of any season to date. It was also really telling World of Wonder chose not to do their usual #TeamNehellenia and others hashtags on social media. Fan reception was nearly entirely behind Nelly with an 'I'll also accept Alyssa I guess' attitude. The season became unwatchable for me past episode 6.
