Just because a film is entertaining doesn't mean it's good, and El correo (2024) is a clear example of that.
I like Aron Piper, but I think this is the weakest performance I've seen from him. The voice-over narration (by Piper himself) is so unconvincing that it often pulls you out of the story - and that, too, is part of the acting.
The plot is overly simple, bringing nothing new and failing to stand out in any way.
As for director Daniel Calparsoro, his work doesn't connect with my way of seeing cinema; after watching more of his films, he still doesn't manage to convince me.

Hereafter (2010) successfully weaves together three distinct stories with three clearly differentiated protagonists, each with their own plot, all well-constructed and connected by a solid narrative thread, fitting together perfectly.
The fact that much of the film takes place in Paris and London, combined with the presence of Cécile de France as one of the leads, gives it a European cinema feel that creates a unique romanticism, perfect for lovers of soft tones and the slow, deliberate pacing characteristic of this style.
Clint Eastwood directs with his usual mastery, proving why he is one of the greats of contemporary cinema.
I came very close to giving it a 10: the film has everything I need.

Fall (2022) follows two young climbers, adrenaline junkies and lovers of heights, who embark on an extreme challenge that quickly turns into a nightmare for which they are unprepared.
The plot is predictable, simple, and riddled with clichés, with a decidedly B-movie feel. Nevertheless, the film manages to hold the viewer's attention thanks to its brisk pacing and constant tension, delivering an engaging experience for those seeking a thrilling, vertigo-inducing ride without high pretensions.
