Like many others, I've loved the original since I was a kid and had always wanted a sequel. It came to a point where I gave up hope and for sure thought it would never happen, so I was thrilled when the announcement came. The more things that I heard and saw about this movie had me more and more excited. When I finally saw it, I had a big grin on my face the whole time and came out as a very satisfied fan.

The movie is an absolute blast. Burton manages to capture that weird magic you expect from his movies. It manages to respect the original, while also being very different and expanding things. Much like the original, BJ himself isn't in the movie a ton, but the energy of the film and Keaton's performance left me satisfied with his screentime. The Halloween atmosphere will also make this a great viewing every October.

Overall, Burton and the gang put clear passion into crafting a successful companion piece to the original. If you're a fan of the original I highly recommend you check this one out. Personally, I can't wait to finally add it to my collection and rewatch it alongside the first movie. I'm also just fine without a 3rd movie.

And boy was it worth the wait.

Rick Grimes was mysteriously flown away in a helicopter early in Season 9 of The Walking Dead and fans have been waiting 5 years to find out where he's been. Rick's wife, Michonne. Also exited the series, leaving to search for her missing husband in Season 10. The two both made a brief cameo re-appearance in the closing moments of the Series Finale to set up this new show.

Now that leads us to this, The Ones Who Live. Originally intended as a trilogy of movies, Scott Gimple, Andrew Lincoln, and Danai Gurira have worked away to ensure that we get the resolution to Rick and Michonne's Stories, without sacrificing quality.

The series has 4x the budget of the final season of the flagship show but only a quarter of the amount of episodes. We can be sure that this will give the series an epic scale and action-packed eventful vibe. Episode 1 proves this right away with it's beautiful appearance and efficient storytelling of Rick's past and current state.

If Episode 2-6 continues to build with the same quality of 'Years', then we've got the best walking dead spin-off to date and a very satisfying epilogue for 2 of the most iconic characters in television.
