Disney follows the White Rabbit into borderline-psychedelic animation with "Alice in Wonderland", a film that only found its audience in the decades after its release with the counterculture. While "Cinderella" attempted to return the studio to the success they had with a fairy tale princess, "Alice in Wonderland" felt more in line with "Fantasia"-a series of short stand-alone stories that allow the animators to flex their stylistic skills.
The combination of vivid colors and charming character designs makes "Alice in Wonderland" a mesmerizing film and arguably the definitive adaptation of Lewis Carroll's novel.

Despite having the necessary components needed to create a successful horror film adaptation-from a best-selling novel as source material and a cast of iconic actors-"Ghost Story" is a confusing mess of a film. Peter Straub's novel that inspired the film is dense and complex, appearing difficult to condense into a film no matter how much money the studio threw at it.
While it's intriguing to see Fred Astaire and Melvyn Douglas in a 1980s horror film with strong practical effects, there's a reason "Ghost Story" has largely faded into obscurity.

Despite barely acknowledging 2016's "Suicide Squad", this rendition is able to begin with a subversive bang-assuming the audience already knows the premise from the previous version-and continues firing on all action and comedic cylinders through the credits.
James Gunn is at his best when working with an ensemble cast of outcast characters, and DC gave him the choice of all DC villains and access to a talented cast to build his perfect Suicide Squad.
