GenX reporting-in. A long time horror fan, who's seen a decent amount of Troma, I thought I knew what I was getting into. This dissapoints on every level! Not the uncensored gorefest they promised. Terrible acting, terrible make-up. Horrible music, Omg. Walked-out at the 1:15 minute mark, just painfully unbearable. 1/10 skip it! Check out troma's Poultrygeist: Night of The Chicken Dead unrated instead!
GenX reporting-in! This one initially released 6 months before I was born. I've seen it countless times on home box office growing up; decided to see the 50th anniversary on the big screen. The upgraded sound design is fantastic, you can hear the waves rippling and the John Williams score really shines in the Dolby surround sound of the theatre. I found it a lot funnier than back in the day. Except for one scene where I did jump, it's no longer that scary. It is very long, and seeing the shark so big vs. A small tv, you can tell it's really fake. In the era of Meg 2, it's not quite cutting it. However this movie's acting and writing is A+ and the dramatic scenes are what make it strong! Enjoyed the introduction by Steven Spielberg! 7/10.
GenX reporting-in! Really liked this one. Not sure why this was labelled a Drama though, maybe for awards. Has more action than some recent action films; Gorey and bloody. Found it hilarious too, but only a few others also laughing in our theatre. Takes place in NYC in 1998 on the Lower East Side, and some scenes are in Coney Island and maybe Brooklyn. It really takes you back to that era. Great acting across the board, very well cast. It's not perfect, but 100% worth a watch at least one time. Solid 7/10! Enjoy.
