Discovery/Picard makes me very sad, especially Picard Seasons 1 and 2. Growing up in the rural Southern United States, Trek was integral in giving me a strong moral compass, one that Nu-Trek has long since abandoned. While Season 3 is more of an adventure than thought provoking, the writers and showrunner clearly treated the third season with great care. And when I finished watching the season, I immediately rushed to the information super highway, to see what my dear parasocial friends, Mike and Rich, had to say on the matter.
Seeing both of them thoroughly enjoy a new season of Trek is such a warm feeling, one that I also share in. There's a few decisions in the show that I didn't like, and the dialogue had some off putting sentences, but a 9/10 new season of Trek is more than I ever thought possible.
Rich: "I loved it...*shrugs*...I loved it!"
