Costner takes the viewer on an emotional journey, conveying not just the characters' trials but also their deep humanity, so much so that the audience itself begins to share in their emotions and feelings. The combination of drama and comedy, more pronounced in this chapter, does nothing to detract from the gravity of the story.

Here you will not find CGI, green screens or anything else, but real, breathtaking landscapes, incredible nature (the birch forest is a visual wonder), which are as much protagonists as the actors.

Dialogues among the natives, echoing those in "Dances with Wolves," enrich the narrative with a historical and cultural depth that is rarely found in contemporary cinema. In this, Costner, would seem to pay homage to the great masters of the past, such as John Ford, with the wagon train and fort scenes.

The actor's script masterfully blends emotion, toughness and a dash of comedy, offering the audience a complete and fulfilling experience.

It is essential, moreover, to break a lance in favor of this film against the criticism that accuses it of being fragmented. It must be remembered that Horizon I is only the first chapter of a saga and, as such, needs time to develop fully. Detractors should keep in mind the example of other films composed of multiple stories within a single film, such as "Love Actually" or "playing by heart," and masterpieces such as "Lord of the Rings," which won audiences precisely because of their serial nature.
