This was one of the most boring and annoying films I have ever seen. I wasn't expecting much since every single film based on a childhood story is garbage but this was beyond garbage.
The entire is basically everyone saying their every thought and emotion out loud. Instead of showing the viewer and trusting that they can put two and two together, they just straight up tell you literally everything. It ruins the mystery and suspense because every single character won't shut their mouth.
Character opens cabinets and see only four plates, "Oh wow there are only four plates.", character checks the time on their phone, "Ugh it's 4 AM.", Character needs wi-fi, "Oh my gosh there's no wi-fi!". Which is said like very 30 seconds like they don't trust that we don't know that they don't have any wi-fi. WE GET IT!!! "The telling not showing" aspect of this movie really takes me out of it because no real person is narrating literally every single thing they see. The constant need to repeat every single thing is also annoying. That one dude constantly saying, "We have no wi-fi." or that other dude repeating that his porridge tastes weird over and over again (I don't know why he still proceeds to eat the damn but whatever.)
The ADR in this movie is trash too. You can clearly see that the actor lips aren't moving while the voice over is in effect. The snail pace and statue-esqe acting don't help either. It's just very bad. I only watched it out of curiosity and boredom. Don't even watch your time.

Tyler Perry cannot write a different story to save his life. It's always the struggling abused black woman who's in a toxic relationship. He just released the same exact movie with Mea Culpa. If you've seen one Tyler Perry movie, then you've seen all Tyler Perry movies because they are all the same exact movie or TV show. He needs to put his ego aside and let other people into the writers room because he can't write at all. If he keeps recycling the same exact storyline then he needs some help. His movies are boring, full of melodrama, and has an unnecessary amount of nudity which doesn't serve the story AT ALL. He must have some friends in high places because there is no way he can keep doing this over and over again. He can't write movies or TV shows. He needs help or something because his projects are all the same.
