This series has all the ingredients of a truly terrible show: a downright stupid plot (and I mean stupid), an over-the-top director who makes everything look flashy but ultimately pointless, cringe-worthy dialogue, and characters who act so irrationally it leaves you speechless.
Honestly, the best thing this show did for me was remind me of all the great Korean dramas I've already watched and stored away in my memory.

Wow, the main character is so badass-fighting, torturing, threatening people... the classic "never underestimate a father" trope-yeah, those are things I won't be saying after watching Taken. What do we really have here? A retired special agent dad trying to reconnect with his daughter. He somehow senses danger in the exact country she's about to visit and tries to stop her-this part was painfully cringe. Realistically, there's no reason for the daughter not to go, but of course, she ignores his mysterious sixth sense and gets labeled an idiot for not listening to her all-knowing dad.
No kid blindly obeys a parent over some vague "gut feeling." And sixth sense? Seriously? What kind of superpowered agent is this? Even Jason Bourne and James Bond (whom I don't even rate that highly) haven't unlocked that skill. But sure, this guy did.
So they argue, she goes anyway, and shocker-she gets kidnapped (because Dad is never wrong, remember?). Cue the overly violent action scenes where nameless side characters exist only to be brutally taken down so the protagonist can play hero. And of course, by the end, he's the savior in the eyes of his daughter and ex-wife. A painfully simple, dumb plot that tries way too hard to be serious but ends up being exhausting.
