The twists in this thriller uncover the gap between what's told and what's seen, centering around five individuals who come together as a family, navigating the struggles of daily life but tackling them with extraordinary ability. The acting is top notch, with a gripping pace that keeps you on edge. And the cast? Let me just say, Bae Doona never misses. Every series she's been in has been a masterpiece, and this one is no exception. When a series blurs the line between what feels real and what's truly happening, it hooks you in completely. It's a high-caliber show, and I can't wait to see how the story unfolds in the upcoming episodes...
They really need to stop this show; it's completely ruined the experience for Lord of the Rings fans. After all the buildup and anticipation, we were expecting an epic storyline, but what we got instead was disappointing. So many elements don't make sense, and it's frustrating. The writing feels lazy, and it's as if they're assuming viewers won't notice or care. But we do. We're not stupid, and it feels like the creators are treating us that way. They've taken a beloved world and filled it with plot holes and weak character development, making it a shadow of what it should be. A failure in every sense ...
While it's clear that significant effort and resources went into the second season of The Rings of Power, the series ultimately falls short. The narrative struggles to find its footing, with a disjointed story and basic screenwriting principles seemingly overlooked. Characters come across as one-dimensional and unrelatable, failing to engage the audience.
The pacing is another issue, with slow, meandering scenes that often feel unnecessary. Despite the large cast and substantial budget, the series is weighed down by dull sub-plots, uninspired dialogue, and performances that lack the necessary spark to bring the world to life.
As a viewer, I kept hoping for improvement, but instead, I was left with hours of lost potential. The twists and reveals, which should have been moments of excitement, were often so obvious that they left me feeling more like a passive observer than an engaged audience member.
It's particularly disheartening to see this series tied to the legacy of The Lord of the Rings films, which were masterful in their execution. This series had the potential to be a worthy successor, but it misses the mark in too many ways, highlighting the need for stronger writing and a more compelling vision.
