Beautiful arthousery with minimal score and embellishment throughout. Yet, this piece brings forth Mira's raw coming-of-age, squashed amidst conventionalities and retrogrades. To watch this unfold was high-key disturbing-whether the makers intended the innuendos or not. The reality of this creation, basking in truth, was commendable, making this a worthwhile watch. Kani Kusruti and Preeti Panigrahi portray their mother-daughter relationship so beautifully. The friendships, the sexual awakening, the hatred, the rivalry-we have all seen it and been through it.
Several aspects felt so incoherent. Is she a hosteller? Why is she home often? Does her dad appear and disappear as per his fictional convenience? There was nothing to hold these elements together while the makers were busy weaving something else. Art is not always supposed to make sense, but loopholes are rarely pardoned in such instances.

A unique, brooding, absolutely lovable anti-social little girl with a penchant for misery-what an ironic yet accurate representation of today's youth-Wednesday Addams, with two d's, has set foot in Nevermore Academy to turn gravestones. Little miss goth is faced with a cascade of endeavours, like taking therapy and falling in love a few times. The characters are so comic-accurately built and absolutely engaging. The plot is rather inane but rigorously entertaining. The agonizing OST, the miserable cinematography, and the morose characters blend in vivid colours.
Perhaps none of the episodes, nor where the story tread, could be completely put off as ostentatious-but it is close. Wednesday's character is supposed to be extra extra, and that has been delivered. Nobody could ever pull off a Wednesday half as good as Jenna Ortega. Emma Myers completely brought on an artist's palette through Enid Sinclair. Gwendoline Christie as the perpetually grudging Principal Weems; Riki Lindhome as the annoyingly patient therapist, Kinbott; Christina Ricci as the naïve normie faculty, Marilyn Thornhill were irreplaceably cast and portrayed. Not to mention all the dear peers at Nevermore Academy who brought Wednesday's story to limelight and cheered her on despite all the despondence.

BRRRRRT-And DIE!!!
The build-up was great-I almost saw potential. But, as they aimed for chaos, the only trail the Monkey left was a mess. Treading into nonsensical territory is a dangerous game. Annabelle can meet Final Destination, but oil does not mix with water.
There was nothing remarkable about the acting, nor the cinematography. The music did not resonate volumes for itself either. Most of the film was just lacking. It was mildly unsettling-the way deaths were presented so casually. It was creative, but that's a given, considering that is the only happening throughout the movie-no plot to drive around.
The ending was really disappointing. If you have read all those children's comic strips about how the good guys turn the bad guys into good guys with their righteous piece of advice, you'd get what I mean.
Just meh. Don't watch it unless you think the other turn-your-brain-off movies are not turn-your-brain-off enough and you are seriously unemployed.
