I'm not going to go into spoilers but if you're looking for a satisfying conclusion to the Season, this isn't going to do it for you.
One thing I'll say about this episode - it takes things in a very exciting direction after the more standard episodes before it. However, despite how enjoyable the season is, it left me at least, feeling a little cheated.
This is due to the fact it seems to end on what feels like a half-season cliffhanger. There are no answers to any questions it presented to us all the way back from Season 1.
It did worry me that the season was only 7 episodes, and while watching through the season, I'd forgive people who are wondering where it's going because it pace seems slower than its episode count. Aka, things don't seem to be reaching anywhere near a conclusion as the Season reaches its final episodes.
This is because it doesn't. This Finale isn't a conclusion. Gi-Huns story reaches a suitable cliffhanger, but the side stories don't. Jun-ho getting sidelined, and getting very little screen time after Gi-hun gets in the games is also very frustrating.
If I could compare it to another Season in terms of how this feels, think of Season 1 of Breaking Bad. It feels like it cuts off halfway through a Season, rather than finishing it off on its own merits.
Honestly, for those who are interested in this Season, based on how it's gone, I'd recommend waiting until Season 3 to see how it all ends, because as this stands, it's like half a story.
Luckily, Season 3 is apparently coming in 2025 so we won't have too long to wait, and then maybe we'll be able to see if we get some answers to some very pressing questions.
