It serves as an adequate stand alone episode in the series. And I think the sci fi hijacking of a capitalism uprising story is well crafted. The story itself was also fairly well executed.
However, it does not feel like a Rick and Morty episode at all. There were a few moments which were funny (like Rick defending the parents claiming they don't know where food comes from). But the overall tone and style of this episode didn't match that signature Rick and Morty feel. Maybe it's because the stakes weren't that high in this instance? I mean I feel like the entire episode could have had Rick and Morty taken out of it and there wouldn't be much difference. I don't think the characters are played to their strengths at all this episode, and i also feel like the whole mythos of the Rick and Morty universe isn't enhanced either. But it's still a fairly well executed episode, that is ultimately somewhat forgettable.

I would say the first three quarters kf this episode has some of the best comedic writing I've witnessed. However the final act feels somewhat rushed and has a deus ex machine aspect to its resolution.
It's structured fairly simply first act the apology second act hiding the "body" third act the resolution. And I think it times itself perfectly so that each of these acts doesn't overstay its welcome
The writing is practically perfect but I can't help feeling let down by the performances. I don't know what it is but feels like everyone is just reciting their lines, and I feel like most of the time I'm thinking they could've been delivered in a funnier way.
Other than very solid episode.

It's remarkable how tightly packed this is. It's not relentless but flows and each scene seems to maximise its comedic opportunities but not exhaust them. It really is a fable of workers prosperity and how the proletariat ultimately holds the "power". Lisa's song is not only a catchy tine but basically the entire message of this 22 minute parodioc fable.
The comedy itself is very good, 90% of gags and excellent and 10% are great. Scenes are strengthened by what The Simpsons does best - dumbing down the standard of humour but slowly. The dumber jokes hit really well when paired with more thought out ones, because they're so unexpected.
That's what makes this epsidoe so strong, having jokes where no on would expect, or going to a point no one would expect. We expect Mr Burns to fall out of the helicopter, we might even expect him to pathetically ask homer to help him, but we wouldn't expect him to ask homer to rub his legs until he can feel.
This occurs a record rate, that is rarely seen in either tv or film.
