Review: Sinners Sinners is an incredible cinematic supernatural experience. The cinematography, music, and acting are all exceptional. Setting the story in 1930s Mississippi adds a fresh and unique flavor to the often oversaturated vampire horror genre. It was one of my most anticipated films of 2025, and it absolutely did not disappoint.

The first half of the film is nearly perfect. The performance shifts into modern music felt unnecessary and slightly pulled me out of the experience. Additionally, the vampire mythology could have used a bit more depth and backstory to fully flesh out the supernatural threat. Still, the film is so well made that these issues are easy to overlook.

Sinners is best experienced in a cinema, where its rich visuals and immersive sound truly shine. I'd rate it a near-perfect 8.7 out of 10.

A cinematic masterpiece, Warfare is one of the most intense and realistic modern war films I have ever watched. The movie pulls the audience into an extremely claustrophobic environment and gives a firsthand sense of the immense pressure a soldier feels under fire. I watched this film on a Cineworld 4DX cinema screen-it was my first time experiencing 4DX, and it truly heightened the overall impact of the movie, adding an even greater sense of realism.

The story follows a group of Navy SEALs on a covert operation in Iraq whose position is discovered by a large number of hostiles. They are soon left fighting for their lives as they await cavalry and urgent medical support. This film captures the true brotherhood among soldiers and their complete reliance on one another to survive in moments of crisis.

The acting is phenomenal, with clear attention and care given to each character, all of whom are based on real soldiers. You can tell each actor thoroughly researched their role and made a dedicated effort to portray it respectfully. Standout performances include Will Poulter as Erik, the team leader, who delivers a brilliant emotional arc from beginning to end. Cosmo Jarvis, known from Shogun, also impressed as Elliot Miller, a strong-minded platoon sniper, delivering a harrowing performance. While those two stand out, the entire cast is faultless-each actor brings their own charisma and depth to their roles.

Overall, directors Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza have done an incredible job bringing this film to life. Every aspect-visuals, sound, and tone-feels authentic. This is no surprise, given Ray Mendoza's firsthand experience as a Navy SEAL, which he brings to the table alongside Alex Garland's masterful cinematic direction. While the plot is more streamlined compared to larger-scale war epics like Black Hawk Down or Saving Private Ryan, it still fully engages the audience and powerfully conveys the emotional realities soldiers face under extreme pressure.

I genuinely believe this might be the film of the year and give it an extraordinary 9.4 out of 10.
