If you're going to watch any of Season 5 in theaters, this part 2 is the part to watch:
*The sadness and grief of Jesus, showing how he grieves sometimes with our 'fallen' state and how we sometimes don't understand spiritual perspectives or the truth of God's perspective and infinite wisdom.
*The additional sadness and weight Jesus feels on his soul as he knows his crucifixion is fast approaching.
*Among that frustration, for him to see the ineffectiveness, pride and sinfulness of so many (including the highest religious leaders who didn't care for the people or God's compassion and Word for His people), forgetting that God's temple is a holy place... then to see Jesus make a whip and display full anger at the temple, destroying all of that... and confronting the Pharisees so VERY BOLDLY... was amazing and even something that made our mouths drop!
Well done.

As a HUGE fan of The Chosen, the entire Season5 sadly... didn't meet the usual high standards of this wonderful (overall) production.
This part 3 of the Last Supper (3 episodes) were especially non-engaging and non-emotional for me.
*Scenes going back in time, the intent of production was to help us identify with each disciple in a unique way... I don't feel that was accomplished. No emotions were drawn.
*The back and forth between Last Supper and current events was unnecessary and took away the importance of the event and caused a major disconnect with the importance of the last supper between Jesus and his disciples.
*Lastly, the leading up to the Garden of Gethsemane as well as the experience in the garden was so elongated and non-emotional. Even some of the props, including the rock, didn't look real. Somehow, I was not able to work up any emotion about that experience, which was supposed to be intense, sad and stressful... I felt that the writing, directing, props, and even acting, wasn't producing any of those emotions in me.
If you want to go to the theaters to watch any part of this Season, I'd suggest the 2nd part. It was definitely worth it and was the only part of this Season that was well written and portrayed on screen, fulfilling the intensity of the temple confrontation and emotions.
Sorry to disappoint my fellow "The Chosen" fans... because I assure you, I AM one of the most avid fans of this entire series. I'm simply saying: Seasons 1-4 were superb! Season 5... didn't meet the previous, usual standard.
This part 3 of the Last Supper (3 episodes) were especially non-engaging and non-emotional for me.
*Scenes going back in time, the intent of production was to help us identify with each disciple in a unique way... I don't feel that was accomplished. No emotions were drawn.
*The back and forth between Last Supper and current events was unnecessary and took away the importance of the event and caused a major disconnect with the importance of the last supper between Jesus and his disciples.
*Lastly, the leading up to the Garden of Gethsemane as well as the experience in the garden was so elongated and non-emotional. Even some of the props, including the rock, didn't look real. Somehow, I was not able to work up any emotion about that experience, which was supposed to be intense, sad and stressful... I'm a huge "The Chosen" fan! However, I was unpleasantly surprised that this entire Season 5 was very poorly written, especially these first two episodes:
*Script wasn't engaging and added way too much detail of how politics worked back at the time of Jesus.
*The back and forth cuts (from and to the last supper) were neither necessary nor effective, but rather distracting and leaving viewer unable to focus on the theme and discussion during the last supper.
*Also tied with too many "fillers", each took away from the effectiveness of the other subject attempting to be portrayed or conveyed.
*Acting and directing also diminished.
*The entire season seems it could have been condensed into 3 episodes. By shortening this SO very important part of Jesus' life with his disciples, emphasis, emotion, character and meaning could have been highly enhanced, as it should have been.
Sorry, Dallas, Tyler, and Ryan, your Seasons 1-4 were out of this world, phenomenal, and unmatchable productions! ...not season 5.
