It has now been a week since I finished Arcane. Overall, I thought it was an alright show with a great Season 1 and a mediocre Season 2. My main issues with the show stem from Season 2, notably the pacing and the character development affected by it.

To start on a positive note, Season 1 was fantastic-featuring some of the best animation and design I have ever seen in a show. The themes were strong, reflecting many modern-day issues we still struggle with today. Additionally, the characters were a strong suit. Jayce, Jinx, Viktor, and especially Jinx stood out to me the most and were overall fantastic.

Now, onto some of my issues. First, the pacing of Season 2 was horrific. It felt way too rushed and absolutely could have used a third season. I'm not sure why they did this, but hopefully there's a good reason. Second, some of the character relationships were poorly handled. In Season 1, we had great chemistry and relationships between characters such as Vi/Jinx, Jayce/Viktor, and Silco/Vander, and Season 2 either lacked it or poorly handled the new relationships. Finally, Ambessa was my least favorite character. Compared to the "villain" Silco was portrayed and meant to be, Ambessa does not live up to any potential. She doesn't bring much to the overall plot, and she's a one-dimensional character.

It's rare that I want more from a show, knowing that in today's era of media, everything is drawn out and milked. However, I truly think Arcane deserved at least a Season 3, maybe even 4. This would have fixed the pacing of Season 2 and honestly could have explained many confusing parts of the show better, with more detail as well.

I don't know, I was really looking forward to the second season after I gave the first season a light to decent 8. But there are just so many issues with Season 2. I'm feeling a decent to strong 6 on Arcane.
