I just stumbled across this series recently when I was looking for a way to entertain myself on a Wednesday night. I binge watched the first season and I found it utterly delightful. The plot is interesting commonly characters engaging, and although the description of the series read "dark relationship,", I don't think it's especially dark... or no darker than The Devil Wears Prada.
Hannah Einbinder plays her character as a delightful contradiction between abrasiveness and vulnerability. Her character is both clueless and knowing. I don't know how she managed to convey that, but she does. Jean Smart in the same vein conveys both world-weary sophistication and her own brand of vulnerability. The way the characters play off each other is delightful.
The rest of the cast is stellar and I have enjoyed every moment that I've watched so far. I'm looking forward to catching up on the next two seasons before season four begin begins.
