Now that...was surprisingly good.

The studio thought after they failed the original origin story for Annabelle they decided to make another prequel to the prequel. And give us this film. And since that first Annabelle film was so trash you would expect this one to follow in pursuit. But this time, they actually made a good movie.

This time we get a story that actually matches the character and story of Annabelle that works and connects to the larger universe of the conjuring franchise. The first Annabelle film introduced so many plot holes in just the second film of this universe while this movie expands on the world and connects to different films we haven't seen yet. That is how you build out a universe and they did it correctly.

Not only that, but we get some great horror, some great jump scares, and great tension. They made this film correctly You care for the characters!

And the writing is so much better!

I'm now looking forward to Annabelle 3?

Conjuring 2 is not as good as the first, but still has a lot to offer! A lot of the movies scares are better. Part of that is thanks to The Nun being this creepy figure. But another part is because James Wan did what he does best, and draws out these scenes filled with suspense and jumpscares. And since a lot more is going on, there's a lot more jumpscares. The Nun, although her role is small, is the best thing to come from this movie. I wish we got more of her because every scene she's in are the best parts of the movie! This movie only improves on criticisms from the first film and gives us a bigger scale Conjuring film! When the horror moments happen, they are memorable and iconic. James Wan was able to print that into my mind and I love it! But a lot of the movie is slow. James Wan was making us care for the characters more! Which did work! But also added to the runtime, making it feel slow. Which does take away from the best moments! Which sucks because this film has a lot of great moments! But still a great follow up! I just wish James Wan stayed afterwards!

This film is such a mess!

Half the time you're forgetting your watching an Annabelle film, and the other half is filled with the most messy writing! Where all of a sudden, they learned they needed to end the movie!

So many plot holes form and it's only the SECOND movie in this universe! Already extremely messy!

Some laugh out loud acting, writing!

It starts strong, than loses its touch as it tries to bring the scares that Conjuring brought thanks to James Wan. But this time without James Wan!

So the characters are just acting dumb, as it tries to make you care for them. But by the end, you don't care for anything that's happening! Making it come off as such a weird origin story to Annabelle. Out of all the stories you could have chose, you pick this?!

But hidden between all that, is a movie worth telling. They just completely messed it all up!
