Surprisingly, I watch this for the first time almost 2 years ago! And I remembered absolutely nothing about it!

And that's because this movie is so darn unforgettable. There's almost absolutely nothing in here that stands out and just comes off as one of those generic horror movies!

I can say the first about 30 minutes worked for me. The jump scares were pretty effective, and I enjoyed everything they were setting up.

But by the end the film, I completely remembered why it was so forgettable because nothing in here stands out. The entire movie is just jump scare after jump scare, using the same formula technique every single time.

This failed without even trying anything new, it's just using the same rinse and repeat formula just to try to make a movie out.

It's also forgettable compared to the conjuring universe because this film never shows up again, it's really debated on if it canon or not!

Overall, there's some jump scares in here that work, and there is enjoyment that can be had because it is just jump scares the whole time. But nothing in here is memorable It's just a rinse and repeat horror film.

Now that...was surprisingly good.

The studio thought after they failed the original origin story for Annabelle they decided to make another prequel to the prequel. And give us this film. And since that first Annabelle film was so trash you would expect this one to follow in pursuit. But this time, they actually made a good movie.

This time we get a story that actually matches the character and story of Annabelle that works and connects to the larger universe of the conjuring franchise. The first Annabelle film introduced so many plot holes in just the second film of this universe while this movie expands on the world and connects to different films we haven't seen yet. That is how you build out a universe and they did it correctly.

Not only that, but we get some great horror, some great jump scares, and great tension. They made this film correctly You care for the characters!

And the writing is so much better!

I'm now looking forward to Annabelle 3?

Conjuring 2 is not as good as the first, but still has a lot to offer! A lot of the movies scares are better. Part of that is thanks to The Nun being this creepy figure. But another part is because James Wan did what he does best, and draws out these scenes filled with suspense and jumpscares. And since a lot more is going on, there's a lot more jumpscares. The Nun, although her role is small, is the best thing to come from this movie. I wish we got more of her because every scene she's in are the best parts of the movie! This movie only improves on criticisms from the first film and gives us a bigger scale Conjuring film! When the horror moments happen, they are memorable and iconic. James Wan was able to print that into my mind and I love it! But a lot of the movie is slow. James Wan was making us care for the characters more! Which did work! But also added to the runtime, making it feel slow. Which does take away from the best moments! Which sucks because this film has a lot of great moments! But still a great follow up! I just wish James Wan stayed afterwards!
