First of all, how did this movie even get an Oscar nomination? And not just one, but 13 nominations-absolutely mind-blowing. The fact that it actually won is even more jaw-dropping. This was easily the worst musical I've seen since Mean Girls (2024).

The songs were completely forgettable (I won't lie-every time they started singing, I just wanted to cover my ears.), and on top of that, the script and acting left almost nothing to praise. To make matters worse, the controversy surrounding the lead actor didn't help either. Honestly, I only watched it to see how Selena would perform. If she weren't in it, I wouldn't have even bothered.

I like Selena, but her acting in this film felt very meh-not bad, not great, just there. Overall, this movie is a complete waste of time. Just pure garbage.

I can't deny that I watched it mainly for the heart-racing romance scenes. It felt like they tried to change things up a bit from Culpa Mia but ended up missing the mark.

Except for a few confusing and disconnected moments, it wasn't too bad. However, responding with culpa mia felt like a bit of a letdown. While there were some emotional moments, looking at the movie as a whole, there were a few things in the plot that didn't quite make sense. It's essentially the same story with just different versions, yet Culpa Mia somehow felt more exciting. The pacing seemed faster and more structured. That said, this movie is still worth a watch-just don't set your expectations too high or overthink it. Just sit back and enjoy. If you're just looking for a light, interesting love story to watch without thinking too much, I'd recommend this one.
