The Marvel Ex-Green guy gets a win, and with a Thriller none the less. The story centres around a death at a famous nature park. From here, we get an emotional slow burn. It has shades of other shows that it reminded me of. "Wind River", and Shades of "True Detective". Not exactly the same, but in the same vein, you'll feel it eventually.
In a rare case here, a supporting cast member is on par with the star, and I'm talking about Rosemarie DeWitt Jill. She stole a few scenes, and even Wilson Bethel did his acting coach proud.
The film is far from perfect though, mainly some script dialogue choices, and pacing choices, but truth be told I'd be nitpicking. One positive of this show is that it evoked emotion, at least once from all actors and actresses. Sometimes that's all we really want from a show/movie..We want to feel something, and this show delivered that, at least for me.
Unfortunately for me I seen the twist ending coming a mile away, and I don't know if it's because I'm old now, or the way this show set it up, it was kind of obvious. Regardless, it's an above average showing, and a small part of me would be curious to see a season 2.

After watching this movie I was left with a few questions. One of them being what kind of movie was this supposed to be? The bio says comedy/crime, but I thinks it fell short of that goal. Secondly, how could such a star studded cast come across as an average movie?
I'm not sure if was a script issue, casting issue, editing issue, or the director just didn't get the script, but I suppose my highest problem with the movie was that I had zero attachments to any one particular character. If anything Jennifer Coolidge stole the whole show, and gave it some semblance of a minor comedy.
It's almost as the movie was suffering from some type of identity crisis, in terms of not being one or the other. The trailer did its job enough for me to give it a watch, and the movie did have some great scenes, but I don't think the vision came out the way it was intended. It's an average movie at best, but given the cast, I was expecting something with a lot more to it. No meat, and all potatoes.
