Binge watched this and enjoyed it. Full disclosure: haven't read the books or played the games.
-1 star for difficult to follow timeline. It took me at least 2 episodes to realize the time line wasn't linear. I feel like directors/writers could have done more to make the story fit together more seamlessly.
-1 star for CGI work that was sub par. Dragons were particularly bad. Budget is a constraint but many engines are available now for license at an acceptable cost.
-1 star for gratuitous and unnecessary nudity. I'm a fan of the human form as much as anyone; however much was completely unnecessary and did nothing to further the story. In my opinion it simply shows a lack of creativity.
Story, acting, cinematography, script, are all entertaining and quite well done. My only other complaint would be that it was often difficult to comprehend the spoken lines and I'd have to turn on subtitles.
BLUF: Entertaining and we'll worth a watch. Recommended. Waiting for season 2 with high hopes.

I enjoyed the first season. Engaging plots with decent writing and above average acting. There are some annoying characters but it's questionable as to whether that's the writing or acting. An annoying bad character is just plain annoying.
Looking forward to the second season and possible resolution of the main plot.
Nutshell: it's a fun watch and blessedly free of PC pandering.

Edit. Added a star. This really is a lot of fun. 3 episodes in.
It's decent. I'm going to hang around and see if it avoids the mess that the latest trilogy has become. Favreau and Filoni are good signs; They have a good track record with SW.
1 star deduction for the music. It's not bad, actually quite good, but doesn't seem to have any relation to any SW music ever. Mild mood killer. 1 star deduction for the scripting. Pascal's lines are a bit childish. Not his fault but possibly better to have him say nothing. 1 star deduction for a mild lack of creativity. To rope in fans you'll need to give them something mildly familiar. While there is a bit of that, something that evokes deep memories would be good. As an example; the Mandalorian's ship is uninspiring. How about a CEC YT-1200, the model before the Falcon? Evoking memories of quite possibly the most famous fictional spacecraft in cinema history, while not actually being it. Just a thought.
BLUF: fun, but will need to up its game to draw back disgruntled fans driven away by the most recent SW offerings. Decent start. Hoping improvements come.
EDIT: love it. Goes to show, wait until a show finds its legs before reviewing. The music even becomes wonderful after you get accustomed to it.
