I didn't understood the bad reviews, I agree that first episode is a little bit boring but the later episodes are consistently funny, don't know about others but I loved the show.
I was watching roadies for the first time (latest season). I knew that it is all scripted even though I was kinda liking it but after some episodes they keep on giving chances to the same person ridiculously like wtf! I mean they can't make the reality show worth watching even after scripting it.
