I didn't read the books, maybe they are better. But there are a lot of poor explanations in this. It's not inconsistent worldbuilding per se, but there are some obvious faulty physics and logic mistakes. Which I can tolerate since physics is not the important part, the mystery is.

But this is another classic worldbuilding trope. The whole story is about finding the answer of that one question no one can ask.

"What's out there?"

Yeah, I love dystopic worlds as much as the next guy but when it comes to these kind of stories, you have to make the foundations strong. Otherwise it's just cliffhanger after cliffhanger until the final plot twist. Snowpiercer and (later)Black Mirror also suffered from this mistake.

When characters can't realize obvious clues that audience can or when they make very silly mistakes, it feels like they're just there to roll the story forward until the "Revelation." It makes them two dimensional.

It's easy to consume content when it looks good and fast paced which this show is. But it's also hard to enjoy a story or to be curious about it's ending when it makes you say "Why would you do that when you could have done this/that..." Every. Episode.

It almost felt like, writer thought of this very cool "Ending." And he wrote a whole world hastily without giving any attention since the only important thing is the "Ending".

This is one of those shows that abuse the curiosity of the audience. If you watched the first episode, you have to finish the rest to find the answer or wait until all of the episodes to release. 2 months waiting? Might as well watch it.

There was literally a massive cliffhanger in the end of one episode. And the problem solved in the first minute of the next episode. Literally before the intro lol. It's a cool show. But it's so lame in some(most) ways.

This would've been very cool in 2010 but not anymore. Now it's just lame and definitely overrated. I'm guessing the reason is it's production value.

Sci-fi + Good Visuals is always a win. But since most people are comparing it with the other Apple TV dystopia show. I think Severance was a lot better in every way except the visuals.

I'm not going to give examples of those "Logic Mistakes" since it would be spoiler and also I think you should try to watch this one regardless. You'll definitely notice the things I'm talking about don't worry. But maybe it won't bother you as much as it bothered me.

If that is the case, then it's a good show.

Like I said, I didn't read the books. Maybe it's the screenwriter's fault.
