It's a very exciting ride and well done. There's just one thing.
It, like hundreds of other Hollywood productions, casts conservative Christian types as the bad guys. It's so tiresome. It stopped being edgy about 40 years ago, Hollywood. "Oh, wow, another Bible-quoting creepy cult leader. Nobody's ever done that before!" Hollywood's imagination and craving for this sort of demonization outstrips the real-life supply by a few orders of magnitude.

This episode reeked of propaganda. It was clearly justifying American, er, I mean Federation, interventions in politics around the globe, I mean galaxy. "Hey, it's just our responsibility, because we're so powerful, to meddle in conflicts, tip the scales, push our moral choices on other peoples." That is why this episode is leaving such a bad taste in other reviewers mouths and feels, in the words of another reviewer, "inauthentic."
