The Longest battle in the series concludes with a perfect 4th episode. The 3rd episode of the battle was also just perfect in every way and I thought that it would be hard to surpass it, but it soared passed it with confidence and charm. The episode is a 23 minute sakuga-fest, which includes sun and moon's best animators and some other legendary animators in the anime industry. This episode not only shines from an animation stand point, but also from a narrative stand point. It's the culmination of everything the SM series has been building up to. Ash vs Kukui is easily one of the best battles in the entire series and easily shows that Ash has reached a new high when it comes to strength.
This episode is amazing, true raw talent in the voice acting department. It's gritty, sad, gut wrenching, and emotional all at once. It's something that needs to be recognized in the anime industry and something that this episode does perfectly. Seeing this adaptated in the anime leaves me shocked at how voice acting can make a scene 1000x better.
This movie is by far one of the most beautifully animated movies I've ever seen. There is a beautiful art style and a great cast of unique characters. My only gripe is the story drags in some places and some characters don't get the same amount of screen time as others, leaving them feel underdeveloped.
