This show, especially season 3, hasn't failed to amaze me. Ever since I read this chapter in the manga, I've been waiting for it to be adapted be the anime. "To The Other Side of The Wall" is a beautifully written/ adapted episode that really feels like the send off of an era. A chapter of the story is closed, and another will be opened. Conclusive yet ambiguous, hopeful yet... melancholy. I'm astonished by this episode, for it's proof for how far the series has come from the first few episodes. A bittersweet ending for a bittersweet series. "To The Other Side of The Wall" is truly a landmark in the story of Attack on Titan.
It's finally here, the episode I've been waiting for since I first read this chapter in the manga. It was everything I excepted it to be and more. Easily one of the most atmospheric episodes in the entire series (with great cinematography), and the ending was gut wrenching and beautifully solemn. It really felt like an end to an area. Everything comes together perfectly into one of the best moments in the entire series.
This episode held promise for the first half, but oh boy it crashes so hard. The starting conflict between the sisters was very interesting, and the concept of the Ashley AI could have been easily used to highlight Rachel's loneliness and obsessive nature. Once Ashley is drugged, the episode becomes a plot hole ridden and over saturated mess. This episode completely lacks the Black Mirror "punch" I've come to expect from this series. I'll give the episode a few extra points for its solid start, but I can't forgive it for its atrocious third act.
