Episode 2 of Alien Earth delivered an even deeper and more intriguing experience! As a fan, I was fascinated by how the story wove in the Peter Pan and the Lost Boys thread - it added such a rich layer of meaning and nostalgia to the narrative. The parallels between the characters struggling with identity and belonging and the classic tale gave the episode real emotional weight.
The dynamic between the group now feels more complex, echoing the themes of childhood, innocence, and the tension between wanting to grow up and the desire to stay in a world of wonder. It's clever how the show uses that thread to explore trust, loyalty, and the fear of being left behind.
Visually, the episode maintained its stunning quality with beautifully crafted scenes that feel both alien and familiar. The pacing was spot on, peeling back just enough of the mystery while building tension and emotional depth.
Overall, Episode 2 didn't just continue the story - it enriched it, linking sci-fi adventure with timeless storytelling that resonates on a deeply human level. I'm hooked and can't wait to see how the Lost Boys motif unfolds in the coming episodes!

Absolutely thrilled after watching Episode 1 of Alien Earth! As a life long sci-fi fan, I found the opening episode to be a perfect blend of mystery, intense world-building, and compelling character arcs that hooked me right from the start. The visuals were stunning - cinematic and immersive, capturing an eerie yet beautiful alien landscape that felt fully realized.
What really stood out was the writing. The story balances the vastness and unknowns of an alien planet with deeply human emotions and conflicts. The protagonist's journey grabs your attention immediately, and the pace kept me on the edge of my seat without feeling rushed. The subtle hints dropped throughout the episode had me theorizing all the way through, which is exactly what a great sci-fi series should do.
The sound design and soundtrack also deserve a shout-out - perfectly setting the tone and enhancing the suspense without ever overpowering the narrative. It's clear a lot of passion and thought went into every frame and line of dialogue.
I'm genuinely excited to see where the story goes next. If the rest of the series lives up to this opening, Alien Earth is shaping up to be a standout in sci-fi storytelling. Can't wait for Episode 2!

It's easy to see where Costner was going with this, especially coming from the success of Yellowstone and its glorious side-hustle, 1883. But the fatal mistake was trying to cram a huge multi-plot epic in to four x three hour movies, when clearly the whole project should have been a 10 x 2 hour TV series on a Streamer.
Part 1 is watchable, but it's a mess. A barely coherent string of stories that have so much content left on the cutting room floor, that viewers are simply left scratching their heads at the massive leaps in plot.
There is a carnival of stars and familiar faces from big TV IPs, but in the main they feel woefully under-utilised, and hardly seem to be putting in any effort, clearly drawn to the project by the lure of another Costner success but quickly realising it wasn't going to be one.
In an age where all producers are clamouring to grab money for this kind of project from Apple, Netflix or Disney, for some unearthly reason Costner decided to go the theatre route - maybe for nostalgia. Even that being said it still feels like a throw back to 80s TV specials, rather than the sophisticated output viewers expect today.
Either way it all but bombed at the box office on release, causing the suspension of the release of Part 2 and canning the promise of Parts 3 and 4 - amidst a flurry of law suits and acrimony.
I can't recommend this movie. Mainly because you will come away, like most people, pining for what could have been and knowing that - at least in cinematic form, never will be.
Watch the Yellowstone sagas instead, or even better in my opinion, Dances With Wolves.
