Why I'm just writing this review now is beyond me, I watched this show as it aired on TV for one specific reason only gamers understand: the story went hand-in-hand with the MMO video game of the same title. While the game takes place in San Francisco and the show takes place in St Louis, characters from the game made it into the TV show and characters from the show would make it into the game! Each week when the show would air a new episode, there would be a new weekly mission in the game that somehow tied into the story from the show. I've been a gamer a long time and I have never seen a game and a TV show tie into each other like this! I'd honestly love to give this a higher rating but the game, although I loved it, was plagued with bugs and other issues, eventually it was sold to another game developer who did their best to rebuild it, at this point the show had already run its course but it was still a great experience while this show was still on TV!!
The fact that I live 4 hours from Seattle (Vancouver, B. C.) and in the 41 years I've been on this planet, we've never had an earthquake that felt stronger than a large truck driving by threw me off and made this whole episode feel unbelievable, like the writers are running out of natural disasters to use. And though we're waiting for the "Big One", I've heard that all my life and still waiting.
Ever since Yang left, it doesn't feel like the same show anymore. I remember the early seasons when it was drama mixed in with some of the funniest cases I've seen. They seemed to have stepped away from the humor and just gone with pure drama. I can't stand either Maggie or Amelia. Let's just get rid of Christina, one of the best in the hospital and bring in an ex-junkie and a Karen. I'll probably get a lot of hate for this but I feel the show has jumped the shark at this point.
