I find the concept and delivery of the various chateaux being renovated absolutely fascinating. There are some beautiful properties of differing ages and styles. I'm so interested in the history and challenges each poses.
However, I'd score higher, but the narrator's over exaggerated "Franglais" accent is horrendous. I have no idea if she (possibly he, difficult to tell) can actually speak French, but the constant faux pronunciation makes her/him sound like a cat clearing a furball. The audience is, I guess, mainly English speaking, so there is absolutely no need for this person to pretend he/she is throwing in unnecessary French accented words. It is meaningless, and comes across as really patronising. Such a shame as it's impossible to keep muting the narrator. I'd find the whole programme much more interesting and watchable with a different narrator.

The acting was appalling. The story was dire and so very predictable. The characters don't have a single redeeming feature and every word and movement could be anticipated. No idea who wrote it, but they were having just the every worst day and obviously had a quota to fill. The music was dreadful. It was like watching a B-movie from the 1940s - the sort of film churned out to accompany the main feature (yes, they used to do that). Don't waste your time even watching a little - it just doesn't get any better. I watched it so you don't have to. Amazon seems to be showing some real dross at the moment.
