What really ruins this show for me is the poor acting, except for the main mermaid Ryn.
The script isn't bad at all but then again it is poorly sold by the actors.
CGI is decent but not outstanding, the rest of iit is pretty normal, bland and playing it safe. It feels very structured and organized, not artistic filmography or editing.
It somehow keeps you hooked and it gets some points because of that. I guess it's the Siren's song, something that I can't quite put my finger on but keep watching the episodes despite some atrocious acting.
Overall, can't really recommend. Not that it's a guilty pleasure, but it just isn't that good to be recommended.
