If you want to annoy your Family this Christmas, welcome home. This abomination of a Holiday Special aimed to recreate some of the comedic holiday joy of movie classics like 'Planes Trains and Automobiles' but missed something .... Talent, humour, comedy, soul, a plot, and characters we could relate to. The only thing that could have salvaged this disaster was if Krampus had suddenly appeared and decapitated Jack Whitehall so we could all have a nice quiet Christmas without dealing with this insufferable inane twits rambling ......Congrats Jack you've made such a bad feature it'll be the topic of whats the worst movie of 2024 ......
It Was Like Watching a Slow-Moving Car Crash ......
Nothing sadder than a group of affluent premenopausal women complaining about things that even their teenage selves would say get a grip Karen, there is nothing redeemable, engaging or relatable amongst any of them, they're just a group of vain, overindulged, insular, toxic people who seem to have regressed and learnt nothing in the past 20 years.
The writing is lazy, the acting is wooden at best, and watching a group of affluent people complain about petty, inane teenage issues that are pretty straightforward for even the most inept amongst us comes across as unrealistic, unengaging, insipid, indulgent and boring. They're in their 50s/60s and seem to have less insight than in their 30s in this series.
I don't know why this series wasn't cancelled after the first reboot, there's really nothing to watch here unless you like watching a slow-moving car crash ......

The whole genres a bit tired and it definitely shows in the latest Bond incarnation. It's difficult, it's a 60 year old formula (first Bond movie 1962, first book 1953) whose formulaic plot, characters and concepts are becoming a bit tired and haven't aged well.
Villains who are all physically deformed and scared, women who are either duplicitous or helpless often both, middle aged white men who are well past their prime, who look like they've come out of rehab coming out as the hero.
The cast were great, the cinematography was on point but the whole thing just felt, looks and feels tired, even the missile base looked less futuristic than the one they used in Moonraker and that was back in 1979 .....
Malek actually felt more like the hero in this one both in terms of acting and character, Daniel Craig just looked over it, like he showed up to fulfil a contract obligation and collect a pay check .....
It'll gross well this year because cinema has had pretty much zero releases the past two years and people want to get out of the house. It had me reaching for the fast forward button only for me to realise I had to sit through another two hours ..... not the best of Bond.
I think they're going to have to update it little, and it's not just changing over the lead to a woman, the whole thing needs a bit of a rethink .....
