The Robot Revolution was an unexpected surprise to me. After last season, I had a pretty sour taste in my mouth for Doctor Who. Weird writing, bad plot decisions, and a messy ending left me feeling hopeless for the future. However....
This episode has changed my mind for the meantime. While it's obviously not goddamn groundbreaking, it's a very fun, very classic-feeling return to form that keeps you interested all the way through, with a big focus on The Doctor's new companion, Belinda Chandra, played by Varada Sethu, who was definitely the star of this episode (pun intended). Her mystery already has my full attention, and her dynamic with The Doctor is fiery and fulfilling.
Ncuti Gatwa also ups his game as The Doctor in this episode. If his first season was for finding his footing, then this season is for stamping his legacy as the 15th Doctor. What a wonderful performance from both of these actors.
If Season 1 wasn't quite it for you, I highly recommend giving Season 2 a go.

So my girlfriend and I just watched The Substance. We came into it thinking it would be an interesting, modern horror movie that had actually done well to capture audiences and hold up a good story with interesting twists and turns. We were excited to watch it, having heard many things from our friends and people online.
Well, I can pretty much say for it was the biggest, strangest and most painful waste of time I've ever experienced. First of all, all these characters are poorly written and underdeveloped. So many of the characters are completely one dimensional, which at the beginning, I thought might've served as an off putting vibe for the film, which it still can be considered to be. Then, the main character making the absolute worst decisions (not unheard of from horror movies, but very run of the mill) was just frustrating. I get she wasn't feeling herself, but come on, it's just rage bait.
My final point... the ending. What the hell was that? I was at least someone enjoying this movie as just another goofy horror movie, but the end? That just switched up the ENTIRE vibe of the feel for some completely different vibe that had no business belonging in this movie. I can't even put it into words. It was just didn't feel right. The whole genre just switched up.
And for those saying this is good and a potential "cult classic" and that it was different... it was just bad. No joke. The only reason people are into this is for nostalgia and niche. Nostalgia because it's like "omg it's the 1970s again", and niche because it's so outlandishly different that they think that's cool or whatever. No, let me tell you right now, don't waste a goddamn second.
