Jourberts create another great compelling film that makes one care about the main mammal- a lioness queen who loses her kingdom & incredible struggle to survive with her last cubs. Nature still ruled during this time before 2012, though ppl overpopulation pressure & habitat loss is a main instigating factor only at start of this true docu.

J Irons narrates beautifully, as in all his nature docs. Jourberts spare the most heartbreaking scenes so it's safe for small kids- no gore. Viewer is immediately invested in the lead lions & the Jourberts writing is excellent- no blasé cookie cutter script. Filmed on their own large game reserve so wildlife were protected & not killed by filming unlike Disney Nature docs that dart, tag & collar many wildlife leads to profit from making a docu in few weeks.

Great watch & teaches without preaching the difficulties of lions' survival without ppl or ecotourists interfering with daily life which occurs since 2015.

This docu shows younger generations how Africa once was bc since 2018, lions are increasing endangered species, less than 1,500 WILD lions left since last count in 2023.

99% of this amateur filmed docu is about 3 ppl who do some conservation work for tigers. Virtually no tigers scene in entire docu. Lots of time on 3 males chattering on various irrelevant topics. 2 males are tourist guides in India- 1 teen & 1 man. 3rd is male veteran scientist who darts & measures captured tigers in enclosures, not in wild.

Last 1/3 of film ficuses on same veteran leading Russian/ Baltic state tiger scientist recovering from a tiger attack bc he lost focus & simple enclosure was not strong enough to hold back mother tiger protecting her 2 cubs. That scene is deleted.

India @ time of filming (2018 or earlier bc no smartphones) was trying to keep tourists quiet but things have drastically changed since this film's 2019 release. NOT shown here, since 2018, daily there's hundreds of packed ildling loud trucks, guides yelling in talkies; ppl yelling/ shouting, trucks driving thru entire reserved, ppl trapping Sieka deer, local farming reducing tiger reserve water to 0 or record lows; severe longer hotter record droughts in India. Together ALL have devastating ADVERSE effect on tigers reserves habitats. Also NOT shown here is there's NO PEACE ANYWHERE nor privacy for India reserve tigers that they've literally stopped mating in past 8 yrs.

This Film states Tigers need SILENCE & NO PLL interference. Yet, that fact is not achieved. Rangers on elephants who barely make a sound are better for tigers, not for elephants. Film shows only 2 noisy truck Rangers in India, supposedly preventing tiger poachers. Yet film FAILS to address India's main problem- NO wildspaces for tigers as each preserve is surrounded by masses of ppl & trains; & ppl illegally live IN preserves using treees, fruit, prey as free resources.

Tragically, EVERY country FAILS to enact & punish illegal poaching & trafficking of any endangered animal. Repeat, worst offenders are arrested but released even when caught with loads contraband, endangered animal parts & witnesses.

Skip THIS outdated no tiger film bc BBC with Sir David made best docu on tigers & other wildlife over 30 yrs in his multi hidden camera "SPY series."

See Apple TV 2021 "Yr Earth Changed" & new 2025 Nat Geo "Oceans" for recent update on wildlife with lovely filming,& PROOF how little nature needs to replenish itself & endangered wildlife, ult giving humanity a future.

So film makes huge $$ bc viewers went bc of LOTS over hype & ads of new reboot. Paying Viewer result- disappointment.

Entire reason Cavill was NOT re cast as Superman was bc Gun wanted to reboot the character. So where's the reboot in this film?

Film does not go into any background to Krypton nor Clark as kid.

With no background, there's No reason for "younger" actor as Superman when Cavill & entire stellar cast of prior "Man of Steel" gave superior performances & lots of creativity in sci-fi Krypton. "Smallvill TV"viewers lament their initial reaction to Cavill. Why compare TV show to big budget film anyway?

Bring back Cavill & stellar supporting cast who made perfect Superman film since Reeves. Reeves was very good in 1980s but times have changed.

This film is NOT what was promised by Gun & studio, supposedly delivering new side of the Superman tale. Action itself does not make a good film. Need good plot, casting, script & direction. Adding characters NOT in original source material is distracting fluff, ie super pet. Best superhero films were all grounded in source material- the COMIC books written generations ago with all ppl involved including cast honoring source material. Just being a great fan with knowledge of comics still doesn't make an actor or director good choice. Actor must still possess realistic portrayal of the comic book character,& director/ producers the ability to create that vision into entertaining memorable film.

This is Skip it film where many wanted refund of costly ticket. Wait until it streams.
