An episode full of "revelations" that most already knew. There is action, there is progress in the plot and visual quality. It is part of what I look for when it comes to enjoying content, and as such I give it 5 points. From a plot point of view, it falters everywhere. It's amazing that when I think about it there's no particular story arc that I'm interested in seeing. I mean, there are jumps here and there in each plot line, but I could rather say which one catches my attention the least. That's one of the worst signs for me. I don't feel attached to most of the main characters, and neither do they themselves since they change their attitude every half chapter.
Frankly, the most expensively poor product in a long time.

In general I give it a 4/10, but since they don't allow comments (this is my 4 try) they force me to leave it at 1.
At the end of the season, I can only conclude that none of the plot lines have caught me enough to see me emotionally involved. No death or survival generates particular impact, in part due to the poor characterization and script. The chapters are excessively slow, with scenes lengthening and hindering the narrative. When there is action, it balances between hits and misses, especially in terms of plot coherence.
There is visual spectacularity, expected from a high caliber production, but not much more than that. If it ever existed, the heart of this series has remained somewhere between the writing table and the audiovisual production, and as such it fails to give birth to something worthy or memorable for posterity.

Outside of Q and Picard's acting, everything feels poor, lackluster, rushed, inconsistent, empty, stuffy, generic.
TNG will not be the epitome of audiovisual productions, but it does not deserve to be related to this compendium of absurdities, typical of writers without creativity or talent.
