You know, this film does look gorgeous. I like the French setting and esthetic, the songs are pretty good and most of the characters are quite charming. However, there is also some stereotyping and can get pretty cutesy at times. It's not like 101 Dalmatians where it focused more on the story rather than the cuteness. This film doesn't focus on the story as much, and there's some filler and even cute fluff. The villain isn't much of a threat either and is more of a joke than anything else. There are plenty of funny moments, mainly with the dog characters and I like how everyone listened to a mouse to stop, that got a laugh out of me. But overall I'm just mixed on this one. It does so much good, and does so much bad. Literally the most extreme form of mid. That's all I could say really.
Literally the people behind this show doesn't care about being educational, this is just getting kids addicted, literally getting them addicted to the bright colors and the repetitive song lyrics. This is why it's searched and subscribed so much, and it over shadows other preschool shows that are actually educational, having substance and coherent stories, like Bluey and Blue's Clues for examples. Cocomelon on the other hand is just toxic slop, and it doesn't help that the studio behind the show, Moonbug, is a horrible place to work for and treats the animators like garbage. If you want to raise kids, stay away from this content farm. There are many, and I mean many better options out there.
I see that the series is already getting a good amount of hate and I can see why. The art style is unappealing and the jokes can be lackluster. However, there are moments that did give me chuckles and there is some emotion I felt when watching the first two episodes, so, I can tell there's good intentions. The problem is that the series is really dull most of the time and can feel rather boring. At least Krapopolis gets me more hyper active as that show had more going on, and even modern Simpsons is doing a lot with experimentation, so at least I feel something with it. UBG is just mostly restricted and playing it safe, the unappealing art style is not helping either. Being safe doesn't mean it's bad automatically though, as I stated there are still some good jokes. Plus, I can sympathize with some of the characters with their struggles. Do I recommend it though, no, as I stated it's mostly safe and doesn't have much going for it, but if you wanna have a quick laugh while looking into some characters going about their struggles, this might be the show for you.
