The film isn't as bad as most reviews make it out to be.
Perhaps I am biased. But I was quite delighted to see Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss on screen together again. Neo and Trinity are such a treat to watch, even after all these years.
It's obviously not half as good as the other films in the series. But it's not unwatchable. It's quite a fun watch, in fact.
I particularly enjoyed the postmodern metafictional episodes. The Matrix series has always come across as an embodiment of the postmodern hyperreal to me. And this film was no different.
I am not making grand claims on behalf of this film. All I'm saying is that I had a 10-hour long flight and this film kept me entertained in between naps.
