You start with thinking it's just an ordinary story but at the end, when you leave the theatre, you have a teary eye. Especially if you have a daughter!
Flaws are there but songs of 80s like Abhimanyu literally feels like nostalgic. Songs snippets for specific scenes are way too good. Like a silver lining...
There are some scenes which raise your hypertension to another level. Mutli tasking and being successful is an art. The director has showcased on that particular point in an inexpressibly different way.
However, the songs for particular scenes as mentioned above make you wonder and ponder over your childhood if you are in your 50s or 60s.
Must watch.

I want to ask the makers? Why not choose Ajay Atul instead of a jewel thief Rehman?
Were you deaf when he composed music in electric guitar to raise emotions, romantic scene in piano? Where is the folk Maharashtrian music? Most of the times I felt like I'm watching Braveheart by Mel Gibson.
Climax though conceptualized in best way but not going with facts.
If a person reads Chaava novel, there are myriad facts that are missing.
Director was very careful to keep a secular angle.
Vicky National award fix. Guirella warfare was not properly graphed. Only one who have the read the book would understand the nuances.

South Indian movies are original content oriented. Proven once again. DS is in his best form. RM needs to work more on emotions. Screenplay, cinematography and bgm all 10 stars. However, biggest surprise is Mrunal Thakur. Smile, costumes, emotions, facial expressions, dance and transformation from Princess into a lady in love was a delight to watch and is the highlight of the film. MT will win an award for this role for sure.
Had similarly with SRK Veerzara, but with a twist. Missed that kind of a classic song, Tere liye. But Sita Ramam scores with the BGM. Worth 10 stars and a definite watch!
