Great weekend watch for fans of British police series. Well acted and well paced, although occasionally predictable.
Lots of familiar faces, but they manage to bring their characters to life, backed by very good writing and development. This might be my favorite role for Matthew Goode--he was particularly convincing as a jaded cop.
Overall, the biggest flaw might be the overuse of tropes, which occasionally made the plot predictable, but it wasn't too bad. The acting and writing managed to help overcome some triteness.
I think the show is a winner with room to grow, and I look forward to more seasons to come!

Jon Hamm and the rest of the cast make this an enjoyable watch, but a lot of the story really only works if you don't think about it too much.
What really elevates the show are the interpersonal relationships and character development. Hamm and Amanda Peet have fantastic chemistry, and the family dynamics with the kids feel genuine.
Overall, the acting and pacing make up for a lot of implausibility in the plot. It definitely works best to just enjoy the ride and not think about it too much, or it all falls apart.
Despite the plot issues, I'd recommend it as a good weekend watch, and look forward to season two.

Excellent standalone series, even for those of us who aren't immersed in the DC world. Similar to Andor, I didn't feel like I missed out on anything despite not watching a Batman movie in 20 years.
The acting and writing were impeccable. Colin Farrell, Cristina Milioti, and Rhenzy Feliz all brought their characters to life with charisma, rich detail, and complexity; nothing formulaic or cartoonish in the least.
This is technically a miniseries, but I felt like they left the door open to continue the story. If they do, I hope it's as a series, and not just a movie!
It's one of the best series I've seen in a while! Highly recommend.
