This movie was hilariously absurd. The film doesn't take itself too seriously, but I can't tell if it's supposed to be as funny as I found it. I was laughing the whole time! The characters find themselves in incredibly unlikely situations which is exactly what made me want to keep watching. Some bits are just overly silly, like the Norwegian guy who can speak perfect English in the beginning but has a strong accent and speaks broken English when he meets other characters later on. You will be shocked by the creative and gruesome ways in which people get mauled by the bear. Some good acting (the kid who played Dee Dee was a particular highlight for me), and some not so great acting.

A charming, wholesome family movie that could easily become a yearly rewatch in many households. It finds the sweet spot where it is enjoyable for young children and adults. I would strongly recommend this movie to parents who are looking for something to watch with their kids who may still be a little too young for some of the other Christmas classics. The countless positive messages open a door for many important discussions with your kids, and even adults could benefit from some of the reminders this movie offers. It has a similar feel to Arthur Christmas, so if you enjoyed that movie you may like this one too.
