After "No Smoking", I didn't see any good movies from John Abraham for a long time. In Bollywood, actors often need to make popular movies to stay in the business.
"The Diplomat" is different and better. It's based on a real story and has no fighting, which I liked. The movie is about a woman who goes to the Indian embassy in Pakistan. She says she's Indian and people are hurting her. She doesn't want to leave the embassy. The workers there, including John Abraham's character, don't trust her at first because something bad happened before. She wants to go back to India, but it's not easy. John Abraham has to think smart to help her.
Since there's no action, the story and acting feel more important. John Abraham does a great job playing a diplomat.

Stefi is a young woman ready to get married. She lives with her brother Bruno and her mom Agnes in a poor family. The story is about them and begins when Stefi's wedding is being planned. For the wedding, her family has to give some gold, but they don't have the money for it.
Then, a man named Ajesh comes in to help. He gives gold for wedding jewelry first and gets paid back later from the wedding gifts. This is Ajesh's occupation. But at Stefi's wedding, the gifts aren't enough to pay for the jewelry. Ajesh asks for jwelry back, but Stefi's family can't return it for some intense reasons.
After the wedding, Stefi moves to her husband's house. Her husband seems like a scary person. People from nearby villages are afraid of where he's from. This makes us ask: How will Ajesh get his money or jewelry back? Will he do it, or will something bad happen to him? Then the story will have some exciting, suspenseful moments.
I think characters like Ajesh and Stefi's husband Mariano, could have been more time to develop their personality. Still, the thrills was good enough, and the bgm was great. Overall, it's a fun movie to watch one time, and it's also enjoyable to see with your family.

"Dupahiya" is a TV series set in the village of Dhadakpur, a place that has remained crime-free for 24 years, unlike the neighboring villages that have records of criminal activity. The show questions how just one area can be free of crime, hinting that it might not seem entirely believable or relevant.
The story kicks off from this premise. Roshni Jha, played by Shivani Raghuvanshi, is preparing to accept a marriage proposal. The groom demands a bike as dowry, and the bride's family agrees to provide a red Bullet bike. They purchase the bike, but it gets stolen-apparently due to Bhugol, though the exact reason remains unclear. In a village where crime is unheard of, the theft of the bike becomes a major incident. The plot then unfolds around whether the bike can be recovered or not.
Bhugol, who is Roshni's younger brother, and Amavas, her ex, stand out with their exceptional acting performances.
The series attempts to deliver some meaningful messages toward the end, such as the rejection of giving or taking dowry and the value of self-reliance-highlighted by the final episode titled "Atmanirvar" (self-reliant). These are commendable educational themes. However, compared to the series "Panchayat," which feels authentic and rooted in reality, "Dupahiya" falls short. It's evident that the actors are intentionally playing for laughs, aiming to entertain the audience with humor rather than portraying a realistic narrative.
