The book this miserable movie is based on is one of a series of police stories made by the duo Sjövall and Wahlöö, some resulting in very well-made movies, but this is terrible.
Derek, who is the policeman investigating, seems totally lost in this Swedish-Hungarian production, wandering around like a mentally handicapped guy not knowing where to go or what to do.
It's not really worth anything, not now and not when it was made. Sad to say!
Jacobi was dubbed by István Sztankay, a famous actor, just like Jacobi (recently seen as a slightly demented former teacher in the TV series Ludwig. A far better performance by Jacobi).

No movie claimed to reveal the truth, is the 100% truth.
The same is true about this film, where the actors are very believable, but not exactly the truth, but very close to it!
The actors, on the whole, do a great job, even if the movie's Mitchell may be physically far from the short and energetic Mitchell!
Like Churchill told the Parliament that the Germans would be the next aggressor, Mitchell told the world that Japan would attack Hawaii.
And both would sadly be proved to tell the truth.
Sadly, this review is too short so I will add that my cancer is improving, to my surprise.
Gary Cooper is excellent as always, but looks tired, and dies just a few years later.
I doff my hat to Mitchell and Cooper!

A suspensfilled history, with great actors, like James Cosmo, that keeps you glued to the TV.
Various offical organisations, one more secret than the other, is involved and a super main character, played by Alexandra Roach, that has to battle who-ever is controlling the train. Amazing actress, I doff my hat!
Joe Cole plays the main character on the train, and does it superbly!
I've seen them in one go more or less and one finds a few weird details one might have missed of one looked at in weekly instalments!
I hope you cam't take over trains like this, but I know you can with cars, so not too farfetched, and politicians (or ex-politicians, like the transport minister onboard the train) running their own game sounds very familiar!
But suspensful, fast action and a happy ending for a few, what more can you wish?!
