Twenty minutes if mouths talking, inner monologue animation cuts, and some of the most uninteresting dialogue in anime. I was having a hard time not falling asleep during episode six. The class S heroes bickering was excruciating to get through. None of these class S heroes are interesting to listen to. Its all trivial garbage that comes out of their mouth and literally no story. The class S heroes just sit around and talk and do nothing for six episodes straight. What the heck is the story at this point? Why is Saitama featured very little so far this season? I'm crashing out watching this unfold, its berserk 2016 levels of quality.
Predator Badlands is a great example on how to take a franchise in a different direction. The pacing of the movie is fantastic. Right from the beginning you get some lovely Yautja lore and breathtaking action. The story is simple and it does a good job of getting you from point A to B with plenty of fun surprises along the way. The action is a standout and I wouldn't be dismayed by the PG-13 rating because the kills are still awesome. The only difference is nothing red spills out, the gore is green, blue, white and lots of alien guts. The creature design is also a standout throughout the movie as well. Without saying much more I've been a Predator fan since the Arnie original. Anything Predator and I'll buy a ticket, even if it's as terrible as Predator 2018 or AvP Requiem. Predator Badlands is an extremely entertaining blockbuster from start to finish. Full of excellent action sequences, pathos and beautiful vfx. Definitely go see this in the theatre's if you're a fan, even if you have any trepidation regarding the creative decisions. I still think many Predator fans will find something to enjoy in Predator Badlands. Highly recommended.
I skipped season 3 because of all the review bombing and almost listened to the "Fans" for season 4. After watching a recap of season 3 I must say season 4 was a ton of fun to watch, and I think this season is not getting the credit that it deserves.
First, the action sequences in season 4 are absoulutely top knotch. Better than anything game of thrones house of the dragon has produced, or any fantasy show of similar ilk for some time. The choregraphy is awesome and it's extremely violent. The standout for me was Sharlto Copley's bounty hunter Leo. I wish he was in it more but when he is holy crap! The last fight scene with him and the rats was off the freaking walls crazy.
I also liked a few of the new characters, specifically Regis. Yennefers storyline was fun of her becoming a leader, Geralt's was decent with him forming more connections with the people who help him, and Ciri's was arguably the worst only because I didn't feel like enough screen time was given to the Rats or the writing wasnt good enough to establish a bond between them. Not to mention Ciri's romance lacked chemistry between the two characters. However, Freya Allen really stepped it up acting wise since the first season and the ending for Ciri was pretty devastating.
Going into Season 4 not expecting much and then being impressed by how fun it was, especially if you can make it through the somewhat bloated first four episodes. Thats my main gripe is there are two many characters and not enough time to properly flesh them out, and some episodes can drag because of this.
Regardless, I had a fun time watching Season 4 of the witcher and I'm really looking forward to the final season. Especially if the action sequences are as good as they were this season!
