This film may not be everyone's cup of tea but it is by far the best film dramatizing the Bigfoot, Sasquatch. The actors are all dressed up looking conceivably like what a Sasquatch would look like and this kind of thing hasn't been done successfully since Kubrick's 2001. The 4 member family of Sasquatch face tragedy and comedy and are tragic and funny in equal measures. These are very believable creatures and we root for them.
It is the personalities of the 4 that is most intriguing, distinct from each other but all incorporating great emotion, pathos, high comedy, including a segment featuring a hallucinogenic mushroom that is both hilarious and tragic.
Don't let the title fool you - this is a great film.

Good Morning Football moved as of the 2024 Season to LA. Sort of. The NYC guys are still in NYC on Zoom, or something jerryrigged so they appear onscreen in LA. A stupid, confusing, agonizing set up that gives you more of a headache than actual NFL news.
Moving the show, however, could have worked if they had gotten rid of their biggest problem - the self-centered, immature, nauseating, uncouth, rude, obnoxious, low class, screaming, shouting, sweating Kyle Brandt.
Trying to endure Kyle Brandt in the mornings will not inform you on NFL news but it may well make you lose your breakfast.
As for Peter, also self-centered and immature, he just signed a new contract somewhere else where he was just awful and annoying blundering through a Jets/Giants game. Good Morning Football can get rid of him too.

Up The Down Staircase was one of two gritty urban drama's about inner city High School kids that came out in 1967. The other, To Sir With Love, had a hit title song, and although good, it is not as good as this film. The film used actual High School students from the poor NYC neighborhood where it was filmed and the kids all have thick streetwise NYC accents and attitudes making the film all the more real and poignant.
Sandy Dennis is just great as the beginning teacher, a lamb thrown to the wolves. She is earnest, compassionate and ideologically outraged all at the same time.
The real star of the film, however, is Ellen O'Mara? Who? - you might ask. Ellen O'Mara plays a lovestruck student, in love with the handsome male English teacher, and she was just 17 at the time of the filming. Like the others she was from the local neighborhood and has the thickest working class NYC accent you will ever hear. Her emotional journey in the film is the core of the film and she is truly the star. What happened to her? She got a scholarship to Julliard and pursued acting with Zero luck. A Broadway play that never opened. A very few very obscure off Broadway plays. Two walk on spots on Kojack. She wound up working a nightshift doing phone sales, a lonely forgotten figure waiting on NYC subway platforms. And she died at 55 fighting disease. We don't really know much else. Sad.
