I've never understood hiring three different directors for a 3-part mini series. Did they have any kind of a leash on Paul McGuigan, or did they pull a Disney and give him full creative control?
The final episode had an entirely different feel than the first two, and that was not entirely due to the modern setting - which was also a bad idea. Maybe they could have put him in the 1950s and set it against post-war England. Dracula Skyping and texting was just a bridge too far.
I didn't despise the concept of the ending - but it was poorly presented - and I blame that entirely on the director.
Peace.

No one asked for a story about how a teenage girl whines about not getting the right toy for her birthday set in Westeros. I thought the first episode was an excellent example of having a "girl power" theme without being completely woke. The last two have shoved the "life isn't fair for girls" narrative down our throats and has made it clear this is the central theme of the show. I didn't re-join HBO Max because I needed a lecture about how evil I am.
I'm still giving this episode 5 stars (and still giving the show a chance) because the visuals are epic, and there are still other elements to the storyline worth watching. But the cancel subscription buttons are just a few clicks away, even though HBO makes it somewhat difficult to find them.
You had awesome women in GoT (at least for the first 5 seasons) without going full woketard on us. Is it too difficult to do that again?

I complemented the first episode for finding the perfect line between having a girl-power theme and being cringingly woke. This episode crosses that line - but not by a lot. Hopefully they reign that back. If the entire storyline behind this show is boys vs girls on the throne of a medieval kingdom, I'm going to puke.
So far, it's a soap opera where everyone wears their favorite cosplay outfit. There's a lot of insipid talk about relationships, feelings, & marriage, but very little storytelling. I don't have an issue with the race swaps, but the physical contrast of the literary character with the actor is so great that it takes you out of the narrative, sort of like watching Bill Burr play a samurai in a Japanese film... But the main issue is that this show just isn't really good. It's like watching the fantasy of a teenage girl being played out on screen.
