I think that this was a pretty well done Treehouse of Horror episode. It definitely wasn't their best work, but an improvement from last year. There was no opening, which is a change from other years, but that was fine with me. The Pookadook segment was pretty good. Some funny parts, mostly by Homer, and it had me at the edge of my seat, and, it was honestly a little scary. I thought that was a strong segment. The next one, the Death Note parody, I thought was well done, not as good as the last one, with a much more serious tone, but still a good story, and I thought the change of art style was cool, anime isn't really my thing but I imagine a select amount of fans really liked that. The last segment showed The Simpsons being in a universe of the characters at theme parks. I thought that was the strongest segment, with the funniest moments and best plot, and it was original as well. I also liked the call back to Marge and the Monorail. I thought that was a very good segment. Overall, this was a good year for Treehouse of Horror, and I hope this show goes on forever!
I really enjoyed this episode. Sometimes the show can not hit the mark when it try's to take on a current topic, but I think they hit the mark on this one. There were some really funny jokes, especially in the opening, and the couch gag was cool, I'm glad they started doing those again. Overall, this was a very solid episodes, with funny, relatable jokes relating to conspiracy theorists. Don't let the current rating fool you (as I am rating this the rating is a 4.3), I got here as the episode ended, so likely these people didn't watch the episode and are just hating on the current episodes and seasons.
Part 1 was an amazing episode, one of the best in years! But this was just as amazing, maybe even better! The writing was great, and so was the plot, the simpsons are on a role this season! This might be the best 2 part episode since who shot Mr. Burns! I strongly recommend that you give this a try, because you will most likely love it!
